What is a parking survey?
Parking survey data is collected manually from all types of parking areas to identify on-street and off-street parking trends. The data is used to determine lengths of stay, capacity, and usage of available parking spaces.
It is also used to measure the use of parking permits and pay and display parking bays, as well as measuring parking demand and stress in controlled and uncontrolled areas.
Lambeth methodology parking surveys are used, if required, as part of new planning development applications. We carry out parking impact reviews of existing roads to support the application.
A team of enumerators manually collect the parking data. The frequency of the parking beats depends on site-specific requirements. We assess and evaluate captured data and provide it to the client in a format that works for them.
Parking surveys can be used for:
- Parking stress measurement
- Development and planning
- Review of controlled parking zones
- Non-controlled parking areas
- Parking stress
- Car parks
- Loading bay activity
- Bus priority reviews
- Cycle lane redesign and reviews
The UK has committed to cutting carbon emissions in the UK by 35% by 2020 and 80% by 2050. Traffic Watch can help local authorities to achieve this by regularly monitoring vehicles entering and exiting their boroughs. This can be carried out using ANPR surveys on an annual or biannual basis. Regular monitoring will provide critical information, helping councils to meet their 2020 emissions targets.
